Charlotte 49ers head men's basketball coach Aaron Fearne has announced that Washington State transfer Dishon Jackson, who signed with the 49ers in May, has removed his name from the transfer portal and recommitted to the 49ers.
"We are excited to welcome Dishon back to our program," Fearne said. "Dishon brings an element to the game that we haven't had in years past with his level of physicality and athleticism given his experience at the Power Five level. We are thrilled he has chosen to return and compete with us as we embark on this journey into the American Conference."
Jackson originally entered the transfer portal following the resignation of head coach Ron Sanchez.
Jackson spent the last three seasons at Washington State and has three full years of eligibility remaining.
"I'm excited to play under Coach Fearne and the staff with my teammates," Jackson said. "I love the people and culture here at Charlotte which ultimately weighed in my decision to return. I'm ready to get back to work so I can represent this university and give my all to the City of Charlotte!"
Jackson redshirted during the 2022-23 due to an injury suffered in 2021-22. In his first two seasons with the Cougars, he appeared in 49 games while making 19 starts. He averaged 6.6 points, 4.2 rebounds, 1.1 blocks and 18.3 minutes per game.
A four-star recruit out of St. Patrick-St. Vincent High School in Vallejo, California, Jackson led the Bruins (26-11) to the NorCal State Championship game by averaging 13.8 points, 9.5 rebounds and 2.9 blocks per game as a senior in 2019-20.
On the AAU circuit, Jackson played for West Coast Elite Nor Cal, averaging 13.8 points and 8.6 rebounds per game.
